Archery – Shooting

In October 1993, the first archery shooting group was founded at the Florina Culture Club with Mr. Konstantinos Styliadis, a member of the Archery Club of the University of Thessaloniki, as coach.
Initially the training sessions were held in the winter in the gym of the 6th Primary School of Florina and in the summer in the area of the bouat (zoo). In this place was the 1st Internal Archery Championship on 28/08/94. The competition was open space, 60 arrows from a distance of 25 meters, according to the provisions of FITA. Afterwards the training was held in the stadium of Drosopigi, where the National ½ FITA Archery Games were held in October 1994 and October 1995.
The activity of the archery team of L.P.F. continued with many participations in national competitions until 2001 when the archery team was suspended and the archery bows of the Florina Culture Club were loaned to Archery Club of the University of Thessaloniki.
In 2014 the Shooting Sports Club of Florina was founded and in 2017 the Culture Club asked for the return of the bows from Archery Club of the University of Thessaloniki to the newly founded Shooting Club of Florina.
The Shooting Sports Club of Florina currently has three sections and has created an indoor fixed target airgun shooting range and an outdoor eleven-stage Practical Shooting range. At the same time it has acquired all the necessary equipment for the organization of the Panhellenic Archery Games.
Shooting and archery lessons are held twice a week.
