Revival of the custom of St. John the Cledon in Florina

Every year on the 24th of June the Lyceum of the Hellenic Women of Florina revives the custom of St. John the Cledon in Florina. Young girls dressed in their traditional costumes perform the event with reverence while the public of the city and the visitors of the prefecture watch with interest not only the event but also the dance groups that accompany the event, singing at the same time songs dedicated to St. John the Cledon. At the end, according to the custom, the ladies of the Lyceum of the Hellenic Women of Florina offer to all those present traditional handmade halva and cherries, while the traditional orchestra plays traditional music rhythms, giving the public the opportunity to dance and have fun.
