Gallery of Florinian Artists

The “Florina Artists’ Gallery” can be characterized as a “specialized” Gallery, because of the origin of the artistic work it presents, which is a product of exclusively “local production” but with a nationwide scope. The installation of the Gallery in a beautiful traditional building of the OSE, promotes Florinian artistic creation in one of the last railway stations of the country. The permanent collection of the Gallery consists of about 90 paintings and sculptures, drawings and photographic works, constructions and holograms. By acquiring works by the ‘forerunners’ of the popular and artistic painters of the interwar period, it is also intended to give it a historical character.
Activities have been developed in the Museum and the Gallery to support the educational role they are mainly called upon to play in the form of small regional centres. In addition to the presentation of thematic selections from the permanent collection in the nine periods of operation to date, exhibitions of collections of historical and aesthetic value are held in collaboration with the country’s visual arts institutions (National Gallery), art centres (Vellideion Art Gallery), institutes (Goethe, French Institute, British Council) and artists’ associations (PAPOK, SKETVE). To date, over 45 exhibitions have been held, while 33 art symposia have been organized in two cycles in order to bring art work closer to the public.
