Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary of Kladorachi

The Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary of Kladorachi was built in the late 18th century by devout residents of the village of Kladorachi and Florina. It is built at an altitude of 780m on Mount Varnounda and is 10 minutes from the city of Florina. During the Macedonian struggle it became the center of meetings of the Greek Macedonian precrites of the region with the chieftains. At the same time the monastery experienced building growth with the construction of cells, the building of which was undertaken by the guilds of Florina. However, the wars (Balkan wars, World Civil War II) caused the monastery to decline and the buildings to collapse. At the moment, it is a monastery of the Holy Metropolis. The reconstitution took place earlier under Metropolitan Basil and it does not function as a monastery, but all the unmarried clergy of our Metropolis are registered. The church of Saint David was recently built on the site of the monastery and serves as the chapel of the monastery.
On August 15, all services are held in honor of the Most Holy Virgin Mary. There is a festive vesper with a large number of people and all the authorities and powers attend, and the Epitaph of the Virgin Mary is also celebrated.
