Homeland Flavors

The event “Homeland Flavors” is a cultural event, which takes place in the context of the summer cultural events organized by the Municipality of Florina and in which a large part of the cultural associations of Florina participate.
On the initiative of the Evxinos Club of Florina, in the summer of 2016, seven cultural clubs of our city, of different cultural backgrounds, addressed the issue of traditional food and the benefits that arise from it. Traditional dishes were prepared by the clubs and offered to the participants, to the sound of traditional music and with the participation of both the dance groups of the clubs and the participants.
In the following years, each club presented dishes from its place of origin, including wedding customs, festival customs, name day customs, etc. The participants enjoyed the delicacies from the different regions and joined in the feast that followed. The ‘Patriotic Flavours’ event has become an institution. Apart from highlighting traditional food, customs and traditions, its most important element is the cooperation of the cultural associations of our region.
