Statue “The Source Sakuleva” by Nikolaos Dogoulis

This statue is the work of the Florinian sculptor Nikolaos Dogoulis, who is considered one of the protagonists of the Florentine artistic movement at the beginning of the post-communist period (Besas, 1993).
He represents a young boy holding a lamp with his right hand held high in a position to empty water.
It is a symbolic representation belonging to the category of nature. The inscription “SAKOULEVA RIVER” is distinguished, the Municipality of Florina – “By Mayor Stefanos Papanastasiou 12-12-2009”.
The statue is made of brass and was placed in 2009 in the square of 7 Heroes next to the river Sakuleva.
