The Holy Women’s Parliamentary Monastery of Saint Augustine of Florina was founded by the late Metropolitan of Florina and ardent preacher Augustine (Kantiotis) in 1999, in the premises of the House of Macedonian Handicrafts. In the monastery there is also the tomb of the metropolitan and founder of the monastery.
It is located at the northern entrance of the city of Florina, next to the parish church of Agia Paraskevi and the Neofotiston settlement.
Today the monastery operates as a commune with about 20 nuns and the abbess the nun Syglitiki.
The newly built Katholikon of the monastery is dedicated to St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo (feast day 15 June), as well as to St. Mary of Egypt and St. Syclitica. There are also the chapels of Panagia Egnitria and St. Monica (mother of St. Augustine).
The monastery celebrates its feast day on 15 June.
